It’s been one year today since Judy, my mother-in-law, died.

We chose to remember her by having a family dinner tonight here with Bob and making paving stones for the garden–assuming there will eventually be a growing season here. It was a simple, quiet remembrance that we all needed in many ways.

In some ways, it’s hard to imagine that long without her. In other ways, it’s been a very long and difficult year, during which we’ve all tried to heal one step at a time. But we’ll never be whole, at least in the same way, ever again.

Here’s just an extra big hug for all of you with thanks and appreciation for your love for my family. It means a lot.

See you tomorrow.
