A musical performance, about 7 or 8 dozen cookies, some homemade macaroni and cheese, a play at the Children’s Theatre, some laundry, and being told that something today was “the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.”

That was my day, short form.

The longer form, well, that’s what makes this blog more interesting, isn’t it?

Woke up at the compulsory 6:15 this morning to shower and start getting ready for church. Woke up the girls, had some breakfast, and got everyone except Patrick out the door. Before you panic, though, it should be known Patrick makes his own way to our home church just a couple of blocks away.

Got to church and had to rehearse with the choir where, while I refuse to lend my somewhat awkward and limited vocal range to their endeavors, I did accept an offer to perform percussion for one of the choir’s featured songs of the day.

We came home after church, had some lunch, then took Julie & John’s boys to the Children’s Theatre for Mr. McGee and the Biting Flea. It was there, at the end of the play, after one of the three characters has stripped virtually naked on stage, that Colin, the youngest of the boys, turns to me and says “that was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen.” I’m sorry, Julie. I’d never quite understood the depth of problems boys bring to the family…They are a bit of a handful, aren’t they?

Got home, moved laundry along, started on dinner, because that needed to be done early for the rest of the family to head to church for youth group tonight. Then eating, more laundry, complete disinterest in the Super Bowl, laundry, and a late decision to bake some cookies.

Okay, there. I admitted it. I was almost completely uninterested in the Super Bowl this year, except for the simple fact that the Vikings can’t possibly lose it this year and become five-time losers. Well, honestly, I did listen to a little bit on the radio while making the cookies. But as for watching it on TV, I think I only really got in about 15 minutes. Long enough to see the Letterman ad, and that’s about all. I’ll catch the rest on the interwebs tomorrow. Before I go torture myself at karate, that is…

The night wraps up with the last of the laundry and my blogatory duties to all of you. Nice circle how I can work in blogging duties into the blog itself, ain’t it? Well, readers, I know you’ve all come to expect that kind of quality writing from me here.

Good to know I don’t disappoint…Often…Much…At least I’m not the most disgusting thing Colin’s ever seen. Well, clothed at least.

New week, new trials and tribulations. Karate tomorrow…If I survive, you’ll hear it here first.

See you tomorrow.
