Jenni says…
So all those times covering his behind and Paul doesn’t remind me that I’m supposed to write on Thursdays. D’oh!
I had interesting things I wanted to say, but today got sidetracked. Had to find a notary to sign a piece of paper that allows someone to take Patrick over the border. Sadly, the wording is thus that they can bring him back, too. (Just kidding. I’m really excited for him to have this trip and then to come home.) Then I spent most of the afternoon going through piles and piles of old clothes. Arc is going to be in our neighborhood tomorrow and they will pick up the clothes and household goods we don’t need. I usually donate things, so it’s even better that they’re coming to pick it up.
But that means that I had to have the kids empty their drawers and go through everything. We have to do that about once a year. So we sort, try on, fold, bag. And this time we went through old clothes in the attic. So after several hours the kids have neat drawers, we have more closet space and Arc has six garbage bags full of clothes. Phew.
Because of that, though, I can’t remember anything interesting I was going to write. I can’t even find any fun Web sites to send you to. But I am reading a good book right now, “A Spot of Bother” by Mark Haddon. It’s a quirky, interesting look at a mildly dysfunctional British family. He had another book, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” which is VERY good. It’s told from the point of view of an autistic teenager whose life is changing in ways he can’t understand. I highly recommend it.
And just in case you’re looking for a present, say for a birthday or something that may or may not be coming up this weekend, I am currently holding my breath for some new books including, “The Time Paradox” by Eoin Colfer, “Raven Rise” by D.J. MacHale and “From Dead to Worse” by Charlaine Harris. Or a gift certificate for Barnes & Nobel would be okay, too. I mean, if there were any person you would think of buying a gift for you know, any special event. Or a gift card to the Luther Seminary Bookstore would be wonderful!
