It’s about 9:30 p.m. and, with the exception of the storms rumbling through the state (but not here) all is quiet. The world is still here, most people are still here, and all is moving on.
In the meantime, we had our small family celebration for the girls’ birthday. Gifts were opened this morning, followed by much ooh-ing and aww-ing, then playtime with the new toys, and then the decision of what was to be for dinner. So this afternoon, I worked on homemade fries, burgers, sweet potato fries and malts for the birthday dinner.
So, we have 11-year-olds in the house now. That’s about one minor step away from having the house entirely overrun by teenagers. God help me.
And…Tomorrow is Jenni’s last day at Sunrise. There will be a farewell celebration after worship. And I’m sure there will be tears. But it’s been a great few years there for all of us. They’re a great church. But it’s time to move on.
So the whole weekend will be celebrations. More to come next weekend as we have the extended family party for the girls.
But I’m warm, tired, and ready for bed.
See you tomorrow.
